2009 BYEE Eco-Camp Korea: Cool Earth, Cool Life
The BYEE program is now in it's sixth year in Korea. This year the Eco-Camp was held on the subject of ‘Cool Earth, Cool Life’. 32 students attended the 2 day camp in Kyunggi area on 3rd and 4th of July. They were joined by two former envoys, YoungTae Jo from 2006 and TaeSun Yoo from 2008, who were able to pass on their own experience.

At the beginning of the camp the participants were divided into 6 groups. Each student then potted a plant and attached to it a description of their hopes and desires as a Bayer Young Environmental Envoy in increasing public awareness about environmental protection. They then attended lectures on ‘Energy Science Technology for Sustainable Development’ and ‘Green Campus Activities and Climate Change’.
In the evening the groups worked on plans for turning their ideas into reality. On the second day, the groups presented the plans which they will now spend the next two months putting into action.

The three envoys who will go on the field trip to Germany will be decided once the projects have been completed. The students enthusiasm for and participation in the projects will also be considered when deciding the winners

Bayer Korea expects the impressive tradition of positive environmental activities to continue with this year's 32 BYEEs.
