20 Bayer Young Environmental Envoys and ten Bayer Young Environmental Journalists have been chosen for the grand commendation by the Shanghai Environmental Protection Publicity and Education Center, the China Environmental Journalists Association and Bayer. Among them, the four top Bayer Young Environmental Envoys and two best Bayer Young Environmental Journalists were commended for their outstanding achievements in environmental protection. They will have the opportunity to join the trip to Bayer’s headquarters in Germany this November. Centering the theme of “Energy conservation, emission reduction and low-carbon life” this year, these two programs have been great successes regionally and globally since 2003.

Bayer’s "Seeding for Green" is an umbrella for different environmental projects designed to achieve maximum reach amongst Chinese children and youth. Along with the Bayer Young Environmental Envoy the program includes "International Children’s Painting Competition" and "Children’s Book on Global Warming" New Green Generation Bases for Environmental Protection Education, "Green Generation: Environmental Education Center" and "China Green Camp for University Students"; and the Bayer Environmental Awards for Media.

Michael Koenig, President of Bayer Group Greater China said: "Bayer has always seen corporate growth and social and environmental progress as its equally important strategic goals. In China, Bayer has joined hands with its partners in various fields to cope with changing environmental problems and challenges. Today, our earth is in urgent need of a motivated young generation with stronger drive to act. That is why we have made environmental education to children and youngsters as one of our strategic tasks and how "Seeding for Green" program has come into being. We hope that the program will root deeply in communities, schools, news agencies and all corners of society and continuously push forward the green action in China!"
