Three BYEE Alumni and Eco-Minds winner receive “Climate Hero Award”
Three Bayer Young Environmental Envoys (BYEE) alumni and 2009 Eco-minds winner received special recognition from the Philippine Youth Climate Movement (PYCM) and the Philippine Senate Committee on Climate Change for its active involvement in environmental protection and valuable actions against climate change.

Philippine Senate Committee on Climate Change Chairperson Senator Loren Legarda presented the "Climate Hero" award to BYEE alumni and WVSU students Mark Wilfred Popioco, Camilie Potato and Jemuel Garcia together with the 2009 Eco-Minds winner Nestor Necesito from the University of the Philippines- Visayas during the Climate Change Forum held at West Visayas State University (WVSU) in Iloilo City on February 4, 2009.

The Climate Hero award is given to young people in recognition of their significant contribution in environmental advocacy particularly in mitigating the effects of climate change.

PYCM is an environmental youth network that mobilizes the Filipino youth towards environmental activism. PYCM also works in close cooperation with the global youth climate movement to empower the youth to take action against climate change.
