The people we met here and the networking we were able to do was essential, as were the projects we saw. Getting to know top German technology was extremely interesting and the way Bayer looked after us was impeccable.

One thing that is still fresh in my memory is the visit to the waste management site of AVEA. I saw people in cars queuing up for their turn to throw in their recyclable wastes and to pay the charges it entailed. To me and the other envoys, that was truly amazing. After my return to Indonesia, the dream-like experience of the BYEE field trip awakened my sense of responsibility to do more for my country and to do everything possible to bring about change for the cause of the environment.

I was so inspired and glad that I could develop a global understanding and a network with other envoys because an environmental problem is not something that one individual or one country can solve. It is something that needs global collaboration. Also the commitment to the environment of Bayer also encouraged me and gave me hope that I can do something to make a difference in this world.

My interest in the environment has changed significantly because I thought it would cost a lot of money to set up an environmental program. But this field trip has shown me that this is not the case if everyone takes responsibility. In Malaysia, we need to change the system so that everybody will be aware of the environmental issues, big or small, around their community.

The trip to Germany gave me the opportunity to learn about what Bayer is doing in the area of environmental protection, and was an ideal chance to share ideas and experiences with young people from 16 countries. This great experience offered pleasing memories and friendships that we hope last for ever.

It is just wonderful to realize that Bayer AG, despite being business-oriented, has extended its effort to help the environment. I hope that in our country, the business sector would take corporate social responsibility deeply to heart like Bayer does.After the trip, I realized my important role as a young man in saving the environment. I hope that Bayer AG, together with UNEP, will continue in its pursuit to save the planet on which we live.

I had the opportunity to view environmental protection from a different perspective.The trip made me stronger; I have built up my confidence and have become more open toward people. I have gained precious experience that otherwise I would have been unable to gain in daily life.

The cross-cultural visit to Leverkusen has widened my perspectives and allowed me to comprehend, in greater depth, the fragility of our environment. The heartening part of course is experiencing the convergence of people from diverse backgrounds and locations who all show sincere concern in mitigating the warning situation. It would not be sufficient to describe the trip as eye-opening, because it wasn't really just an ordinary excursion --- it was an awe-inspiring journey that empowers people as to what and how they can contribute to this worthy cause today.

I really enjoyed visiting Bayer CropScience in Monheim. There, I experienced how experts work together with high-tech equipment in research and development to ensure that Bayer’s products are safe for the environment and human beings.

The trip to Germany demonstrated to me that the interest in the environment with its problems and solutions extends all over the planet without distinction. The BYEE program showed me that there is effective equipment to cope with the issue and that an exchange of environmental proposals and the generation of communications to reach the rest of the world can make a difference.

Visiting the waste processing and disposal facility and the research area, I saw German environmental assistants everywhere. Each of them was working energetically, responsibly and compliantly for the protection of the environment. I acknowledged that local authorities always co-operate with environmental organizations and that the government invests significantly in environmental protection activities as well.
