Bayer Young Environmental Envoy, Thailand

The Bayer Young Environmental Envoy Program is now inviting eligible high school or university students aged between 15 to 25 years to participate in the Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) Competition 2010. Forty students will be selected and appointed Bayer Young Environmental Envoy 2010. Amongst them, the best five envoys will have a chance to join a one-week educational trip to Germany including Bayer’s headquarters and other government agencies in November together with their counterparts from other 17 countries worldwide during November 7-12, 2010. Moreover, the five winners will be individually awarded a funding of THB 15,000 while the other five runners-up will each receive THB 5,000 in order to carry out the winning projects in their communities.

In partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the program aims to enhance roles of Thai youths in environmental protection as well as to provide them an opportunity of learning the inter-relationship between environment and development on both national and international perspectives. Their experiences and efforts are precious treasures that can help promote environmental awareness among Thai people and their respective communities

This year, the competition is about Climate Change in Thailand which focuses on four main topics: Impacts of Climate Change, Green House Gas Emission from Household and Community, Local Adaptation toward Climate Change and Sustainable Approaches to Increase O2 in the Air. The deadline of submission will be July 30, 2010.

Eligibility for entry

Thai youngsters between 15 and 25 years old (at the closing date of July 30, 2010)
High-school student, undergraduate or equivalent
Keen interest and background in environmental activities, strong leadership, assertiveness, and ability to carry out the role of Bayer Young Environmental Envoy with the aim of sharing knowledge and experience with others

Submit the following documents together with the application form: Copy of Identification Card/or Student Card, Copy of transcript for educational year 2009, A photo (1x1 inches)
Attach the proposal of environmental project
